GGS History Book Launch: Celebratory Activities at Camp Christine

Come celebrate the inspiring tales that define GGS’ commitment to girls and young women with the launch of our History Book, 'Doing our Best: A History of the Girl Guides in Singapore 1914 to 2022.' at Camp Christine!

All are welcome to a captivating afternoon and evening of enjoyable activities.

Were you a Girl Guide in the past? Bring along your children or grandchildren to share your memories and create new ones with the next generation of Girl Guides.

Curious about the kinds of activities Girl Guides does to develop and empower young girls to be future leaders and serve the wider community? Bring along your friends and family for a fun day out. 

Are you a Girl Guide and want to share what it’s all about with your friends, family and community? Bring them along to celebrate the History Book launch.

Here’s what you can expect:

💪BP Eco Challenge (Land) OR BP Eco Challenge (Water) Activity (4PM - 6PM)

The Baden Powell Eco Challenge is a land or water obstacle course in Camp Christine. It serves as a unifying platform for individuals of all ages and backgrounds, providing hands-on Guiding experience and learning opportunities for all. 

A special one-for-one deal is available exclusively for this event. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis, with the activity fee payable to Girl Guides Singapore before the event starts. Applications will close once we reach maximum capacity. Participants must be at least 1 meter tall to join the activity.

The cost of the activity is as follows:

  1. $10.90* (inclusive of 9% GST) for BP Eco Challenge (Land)
  2. $21.80* (inclusive of 9% GST) for BP Eco Challenge (Water)

If it rains, experienced instructors will conduct a Wet Weather Programme instead. 

*One ticket entitles TWO participants to take the same Challenge.

🎉 Interactive Activities for All Ages (4PM onwards)

Enjoy a range of complimentary fringe activities suitable for all ages to relive your Guiding memories!
There would also be opportunities for memorable outdoor photos perfect for your social media feed.

🍪 Girl Guides Cookies 

Here’s your chance to grab a box of the popular Girl Guides Singapore Cookies! 

🔥 Girl Guides Campfire Spectacle (7pm)

Experience the joy and camaraderie of a traditional campfire at Camp Christine! Sing along to nostalgic camp songs, enjoy stories and a talent show by Girl Guides members. It’s the highlight of the evening!

🌟 Learn About Guiding
Learn about the Singapore and international Guiding Movement and how Guiding develops girls to their fullest potential at our Education Booths.

📍Location: Camp Christine (71 Jalan Bahtera, Singapore 719922)

🕓Time: 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM

🚌 Free Shuttle Buses to and from Choa Chu Kang MRT will be provided at 3.30pm and 4.30pm.

Parking is limited so we strongly encourage everyone to take the shuttle bus.

Pickup Point is located Beside Block 302.

Questions: 

  1. Can I come halfway when the event is happening?
  • Yes you can! However, do note that shuttle bus service is only provided at 3.30pm and 4.30pm. Do adhere to these timings if you are coming as Camp Christine is not easily accessible. 

2. Will there be shuttle bus service provided back to Choa Chu Kang MRT?

  • Yes, shuttle bus service is provided to and from Choa Chu Kang MRT.
  • Return trips will be from 8.30pm onwards.

3. Is this event open to the public or only to members of GGS?

  • The event is open to all! So make sure to bring along your friends and family to come enjoy this delightful event.

4. Do I need to pay any entrance fee?

  • No, this event is entirely free! 

5. Can I register for my friends and family?

  • Yes, just indicate the number of guests you are bringing (including yourself) in the Signup form
