WAGGGS Surf Smart for Brownies (CV) R1 Part 2

Dear Brownie Guiders,

Surf Smart is a WAGGGS badge programme that contains lots of fun activities to help our girls develop new digital skills and awareness. The curriculum provides a unique resource which will equip girls with the skills required, so that they will be able to connect positively with others online, protect themselves and others as well as respect their own rights and reputation in the digital world.

To value-add our girls’ experience, GGS is partnering with Singapore Children’s Society to conduct an e-workshop for the Brownies. The training will incorporate the fundamentals from WAGGGS Surf Smart (Connect, Protect, & Respect) as well as Singapore Children’s Society Bully-Free Programme materials.

Workshop details

Mode of delivery: Digital via Zoom (the link will be sent to the participating schools nearer the training date)

No. of sessions: two (1.5 hours for each workshop) – compulsory to attend both sessions

Session 1: Saturday, 27 Feb 2021 (9:00 am – 10:30 am)

Session 2: Saturday, 6 Mar 2021 (9:00 am – 10:30 am)

Guiders are encouraged to sit in to observe the sessions (a HQ trainer will be around during the virtual training too)

Each Guider can register for up to 5 Brownies per school

Surf Smart Badge

In addition to the training, Brownies have to complete the activity “Put Yourself First” on page 35 of the Surf Smart booklet to earn their badges.
