Dear South Division Guiders,

With special thanks and gratitude towards Ang Mo Kio Secondary School, Queensway Secondary School, Raffles Girls’ School and the standing committees in GGS, we have now updated the necessary details about all the workshops we are providing for South Division Learning Day.

Note:

• Please also note that there will be some workshops that are offered outside of 15 July and even physically at HQ.
• Don’t stress yourself and your girls out if you are not able to send your girls for workshops outside 15 July. We are just trying to create more learning opportunities for as many girls as possible!
• Please note that I will do my best to update the successful registered girls as soon as I can but do give me 1 – 2 days to reflect the necessary changes.
• We will try to send you a generic RAMS for the physical workshops by this Friday, 8 July.

Dear South Division Guiders, 

 

Thank you for your patience. Please note the following details for the upcoming South Division Learning Day on 15 July 2023, Saturday.

 

Objectives

• To strengthen girls’ 21CC skills through fun and interesting REAL activities
• To create leadership opportunities for girls to lead activities for their fellow Brownies and Guides in the South Division

 

There will be 2 types of workshops happening for SD Learning Day 2023; HQ-Organised Workshops and Division-Led Workshops. Some workshops will happen on 14 July, Friday and some on 15 July.

 

Due to the nature of some of the HQ workshops, we would require girls to attend the workshops physically at HQ. This will be confirmed in the first week of July.

 

Guiders are advised not to send the same group of girls for the 14 and 15 July workshops so that they can rest as well.

• South Division Learning Workshops Proposal Submissions

We are looking for 6 – 7 Brownie / Guide Units to submit Proposals for the Learning Day on 15 July 2023 from 9am – 11.30am virtually.

 

These are the details that we will require: 

• • Looking for 6 – 7 workshops submissions from the Division.
  • Tied to: World Thinking Day 2023 Theme: “Our World, Our Peaceful Future”
  • Conduct a 2 hours to 2.15 hour session
  • Conducted completely virtually
  • Blend of virtual and hands-on activities
    • As much as possible, participants should be able to obtain logistics from home or Units
  • Provide the Zoom link with the proposal submissions.
  • Each workshop to accommodate a mixture of Brownies and Guides.
  • The maximum for each workshop is 40 participants in total (breakout rooms to be created if necessary)
  • The workshops can be conducted by either Brownie Units or Guide Units.

• Submissions of Proposals to be completed via Google Form by 3 July 2023, Tuesday.

• Submissions of Proposals are based on a first-come, first-serve basis.
• HQ will provide some feedback on the proposals submitted. Proposal Feedback can be seen here
• Units can claim the necessary PNAA points for Division Yeoman Service.
• Each Unit can claim up to $50 of the expenses incurred. All purchases must come with a receipt and will be reimbursed to Guider In-Charge at a later time via this Google Form.

  • Depending on the nature of the workshop, we can accommodate between 2 – 4 girls per Unit.

  • Registrations are based on a first-come, first-serve basis.

• Details about the Division-LED workshops will be shared after 3 July 2023, Tuesday.

• Units can claim the necessary PNAA points for participation.
