Dear Guide Guiders,
Mental health is everyone’s business. Awareness on mental health is important in order to remove stigma and extend help to those in need.
Girl Guides Singapore will be launching a new badge programme on Mental Health Advocacy in January 2021 which will end in December 2023. It is a partnership among Girl Guides Singapore, Temasek Foundation and the Institute of Mental Health. The programme is funded by Temasek Foundation and the training will be delivered by the Institute of Mental Health.
The Mental Health Advocacy badge programme is created for the Guides to equip them with the mental health knowledge and skills as well as support them to initiate ground-up mental health projects to increase mental health awareness among their peers, family and community. We want our girls to be mindful of the current situation and become responsible citizens who will take action to change the world by advocating for mental health to improve the lives of others.
Through this pilot programme, we hope more youths will have increased awareness of mental illness and seek appropriate help when needed. We hope to garner your support for this programme.
Do look out for more details in the Term 1 circular and sign your Guides up for the training, using this link https://forms.gle/hwVrLArhddV7sVae8
