We strive to support young girls to build up their self-esteem and confidence. This is increasingly important in this age of social media with frequent appearance comparison. Free Being Me (FBM) is an educational programme that promotes body confidence and aims to build a world free from appearance-related anxiety. This programme was developed by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), the Dove Self-Esteem Project (DSEP) and the Centre of Appearance Research (CAR). It was established in 2013. Girl Guides Singapore is proud to share FBM is one our key programmes. We have implemented the New Revised FBM curriculum since January 2023. Let’s hear from our very own Brownies and Guides, who have gone through this programme, on what they have learnt about body confidence and how FBM has benefited them.
