Girl Guides Singapore Looks to Its Next Chapter with New President Ms Heidi Yip
Leadership transition comes as the Movement approaches 110 years of empowering girls and young women.

Girl Guides Singapore (GGS) has appointed Ms Heidi Yip as its new President. Ms Yip is currently BlackRock’s Head of Sustainable and Transition Solutions for Southeast Asia, where she shapes the firm’s sustainability and transition strategy for the region and develops solutions in response to evolving client needs.
Prior to joining BlackRock, Ms Yip held multiple leadership roles at GIC Private Limited. Her career has also included roles at McKinsey & Company, Standard Chartered Private Bank and Singapore’s Ministry of Finance.
“Over the past two decades, I've had the privilege of working across public service, strategy consulting, and sustainability—always at the intersection of investing for the long-term and delivering real-world impact. I'm looking forward to bringing curiosity, a willingness to learn from the leaders, volunteers and girl guides who make GGS what it is, and whatever experience I can offer in service of that,” said Ms Yip.
Her breadth of experience across the public and private sectors, spanning strategy, organisational transformation, finance and sustainability, brings a forward-looking perspective to GGS as the Movement prepares girls and young women for an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world.
Ms Yip succeeds Dr Seetha Subbiah, who served as President of GGS for six years. Dr Seetha assumed the role during the COVID-19 pandemic and guided GGS through a period of unprecedented uncertainty, helping it adapt with resilience while remaining steadfast in its mission.

Under her leadership, GGS strengthened its financial foundations and continued to grow as a resilient and connected Movement. In recognition of her distinguished service and enduring contribution to Girl Guides Singapore, Dr Seetha was presented with the Laurel Leaf award at the investiture ceremony.

“Looking forward, my hope is that GGS keeps preparing girls not just for the world as it is, but for the one they'll inherit—one shaped by technology, rapid economic shifts, and a changing climate. If we can give them the resilience, curiosity and values to navigate that with confidence, we'll have done our job well,” she added.
