Dear Guide Guiders,

We are delighted to invite the Guides and you to participate in the National Day Parade (NDP) 2026 under the Parade & Ceremony (P&C) segment. NDP 2026 is particularly special as it marks the celebration of Singapore’s 61st birthday.

1. Recruitment of Guides
GGS is recruiting a total of 60 Guides to take part in NDP 2026. Guides are expected to put in full commitment to all rehearsals and training dates and be in full Guide uniform with marching boots for all sessions. Full training and rehearsal dates can be found in the Health Consent Form to parents.

Here are the basic requirements that will serve as a checkpoint for your Guide’s participation:

  • Singaporean or Singapore PRs only
  • Minimum height of 1.52m
  • Have basic knowledge of footdrills
  • Preferably Guides who are in Secondary 2 & 3.
  • Not suffering from the following illnesses – asthma, vertigo, angina, gastritis, allergic to heat and perspiration (rashes), not able to stand in the sun for more than 20 minutes, weak ankles, etc.
  • Participants MUST be able to attend ALL training once selected to participate in the contingent.

Note: Guides who plan to be away from Singapore during the June school holidays or are unable to commit to the weekly training and rehearsals are strongly advised not to participate. Guides with frequent absences will be replaced.
