What is World Thinking Day?

Since 1926, World Thinking Day is a day of international friendship, where 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 150 countries come together to celebrate and fundraise for the Movement.

Each year, World Thinking Day takes on a different theme that Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world can learn about and take actions on. In 2020, we are focusing on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, where our girls learn the importance of fostering inclusiveness and equity, as well as celebrating our differences.

Diversity
Diversity
Diversity is what differentiates each one of us – a mix of many different dimensions including; identity, skill, appearance, abilities and other characteristics of any group. It refers to the level of difference represented within any group.
Equity
Equity
Equity refers to fairness and equality in outcomes, not just in support and opportunity. Equity is giving everyone what they need to be successful and treating everyone the same.
Inclusion
Inclusion
Inclusion practices values that people of all backgrounds, identities, abilities, perspectives, and beliefs should have an equal opportunity to belong, achieve and contribute to their community(ies).
