SUMMARY:WAGGGS STEM Changemakers Online Training For Guiders
DESCRIPTION:Dear Guiders\,  \nWe are excited to share that we will be having our final round of online training sessions for Guiders! By attending this training\, your Guides will be able to be more involved in the STEM Changemakers activities during HQ level events. Don’t miss out on this opportunity!  \nThe STEM Changemakers Programme is an exciting initiative developed by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts\, applying the Growing and Learning Framework. It empowers girls and young women to explore the world of STEM through fun\, engaging\, and purpose-driven learning experiences. The programme also focuses on equipping young people with the knowledge\, confidence\, and leadership to see themselves as future changemakers in STEM.  \nHow do Guides earn the badge? \nTo earn the badge\, Guides will have to complete three interactive activities from the activity booklet\, and a hands-on STEM Challenge. These activities allow participants to discover what STEM means\, how STEM skills are part of their everyday lives\, and how these skills can be used to address global challenges. They will also explore the critical importance of gender equality in STEM fields and learn more about the role models who are breaking barriers and creating impact.  \nUpon completion of the activities above\, Guides will also have to “take action” by sharing their learning and experience with at least two peers or members of their community\, spreading knowledge and multiplying the impact. \n  \nHow do we get started? \nBefore embarking on this badge\, Guiders will have to attend an online training session to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the programme at the unit level.  \nAgenda: \n\n	Introduction to STEM Changemakers\n	Safeguarding training and creating a Brave Space\n	Briefing of activity booklet activities\n	Sharing of methods to run the programme more efficiently\n	Q&A session\n\n  \nGuiders’ online training dates: \nPlease choose ONE option from the following dates to attend the training: \n\n	25th March\, 2.00pm-3.30pm\n	27th March\, 2.00pm-3.30pm\n	1st April\, 2.00pm-3.30pm\n	11th April\, 10.00am-11.30am\n\nAn email with the respective ZOOM links will be shared nearer to the date of training. \nTo register\, please use this form: https://forms.gle/JYk5Mjf69J6sKxck8  \nQuestions? \nPlease leave your questions on this Padlet and we will get back to you as soon as possible:  \nThank you once again and we look forward to seeing you!  \nKind Regards\, \nMs Anthea Goh \nSpecial Projects Commissioner

SUMMARY:Cookie Entrepreneurs Central Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Dear Guiders\, \nThe Cookies have served as a form of identification for GGS\, and also a source of nostalgia among members of the public\, which are the few reasons driving the sales of cookies. However\, due to the increase in price\, change in packaging material\, and possible stagnation in the Programme\, there’s a need for a revamp to encourage higher participation. This exciting revamp encourages girls to be more confident through selling cookies\, buyers to look beyond the cover of the cookie box\, and showcase the direct link between buying the cookies and the impact of GGS programmes on the girls. This also increases the visibility of GGS as an organisation in the public eye. Adapted from Chell’s (2013) four main categories of entrepreneurial skills and local study recommendations\, the following objectives and programme outline is presented below. \n\n	Developing entrepreneurship skills through the WAGGGS Leadership Mindsets and the WAGGGS Non-formal Educational Methods\n	For Brownies and Guides to have fun in a creative and safe space for idea exploration and risk-taking\n	To increase cookie sales\, positively impact the public image of GGS and increase public recognition and awareness of the organisation\n\nSend your girls to Guide House for them to experience the activities and learn entrepreneurship skills on the spot at a HQ-level workshop. Brownies and Guides should apply their skills back in the unit after the workshop. \n\nDate: 16th April 2026\nTime: 2:30pm – 5pm\nVenue: Guide House\, Level 2 Hall\nAttire: Half Brownies/Guides uniform \n\nAvailability is on a first-come-first serve basis. Slots are limited to 10 girls per unit\, with a maximum capacity of 80 girls.\nRegister here by 10th April 2026: https://forms.gle/CoGAX39ggHSCNyDR9“ \nThank you! \nSincerely\,  \nMs Lim Jia Yi \nDeputy Chief Commissioner

SUMMARY:Advocacy Mentorship Programme: Submissions Close
DESCRIPTION:<Submissions Close> \nDear Guide Guiders\,\n\nAre your Guides passionate about sustainability? Do they want to make a positive change in your community? If so\, join our Advocacy Mentorship Programme 2026!\n\nThis is a programme for Guides to work in teams of three or four to design and execute an original advocacy project. This project should be related to one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): \n\n	SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing\n	SDG 5: Gender Equality\n	SDG 10: Reducing Inequalities\n	SDG 13: Climate Action\n\nEach team will be paired up with an External Mentor who has substantial experience and knowledge advocating for the chosen SDG. The External Mentor will provide project guidance and feedback to develop the group’s project management and advocacy skills.\n\nAdvocacy is not simply raising awareness of an issue; it involves mobilizing collective action to promote changes in policy\, practices\, or laws. Advocacy should ultimately identify and target one or more decisionmaker(s) (e.g.\, school principal\, community leaders\, Member of Parliament\, or businesses leaders). To learn more about advocacy\, access the WAGGGS toolkit here: https://www.wagggs.org/en/what-we-do/girl-led-advocacy/advocacy-toolkit/ \n \nDuration of Project\n\nAll projects must be completed within six working months (e.g. 16 May 2026 to 16 November 2026). Progress shall be tracked in detail by the group.\n\nWithin this six-month period\, the team must complete their advocacy project and accumulate at least 10 hours of execution time.\n\n‘Execution’ does not include planning time and refers to any action of creation or advocacy (e.g.\, pitching to decision-maker\, making banners\, setting up and running social media campaigns\, giving speeches\, etc.).\n\nThere will be an Opening Meeting and Launch for at Guide House on 16 May from 9.30am – 12.30pm. As has been the case in previous years\, the official closing of the programme will be marked by World Thinking Day 2027. However\, apart from these two events\, the dates and times of group meetings and activities will be decided by the group in consultation with their External Mentor.\n\nThis project (once completed) is also eligible as an Advocacy Project under Initiatives or can be used as the PGA candidates’ VIA project.\n\nAt the end of the project\, each group will have to submit the following: \n\n	A project portfolio\, which includes photographs and individual group members’ reflections.\n	All activities during the project period\n	Corresponding time spent on each activity\,\n\nMore details will be provided to selected groups.\n\nEach group shall select a group leader. The group leader shall submit her group’s application\, after discussion with her teammates on the project proposal\, to this link. Throughout the project\, the group leader shall be responsible for communicating with GGS HQ and the group’s External Mentor.\n\nThere is no limit to the number of applications a school can submit. Should you wish to develop an existing project that had been created by Guides from your school\, your proposal should clearly state the new\, substantial elements of the project that you wish to embark on; it cannot be a mere repetition of what has been done before.\n\nApplications will close on 18 April 2026\, Saturday. Confirmation of final teams will be announced by 30 April 2026\, Thursday.\n\nTimeline\n3 March: Open Calls for AMP 2026 Submissions\n18 April: Deadline for submissions https://forms.gle/wf2k4T5WpdRado638\n30 April: Announcement of shortlisted teams with mentors\n16 May: Launch and Opening of AMP 2026 (compulsory for all shortlisted teams)\n\nIf you have any queries or concerns\, please email specialprojcomr@girlguides.org.sg. \n\nThank you! \nSincerely\, \n\nMs Anthea Goh\nSpecial Projects Commissioner
