DESCRIPTION:Dear Guiders\,\n\nAs the current online mode for the SANA Badge has received positive feedback across the board for its flexibility in completing the readings and assessment.\n\nWe will be scheduling a few months namely\, March\, May and October in 2023 for the girls to partake in the SANA Anti-Drug & Inhalant Abuse Badge Programme.\n\nPlease note that the badge programme will cost $4.00 / Guide and there is no limit to the number of girls you can choose to send.\n\nPlease see the process below:\n1. Register for your girls in Google Form (the deadline for registration for each session is by end of Feb\, Apr and Jul)\n2. GGS will email SANA with the number of girls for confirmation\n3. GGS will then send resources to Guiders the reading materials\, practice link and assessment link before the period.\n4. Guides can do their self-study and login anytime during the period to complete the online assessment. Guides are to practice for the quiz using the practice link before they attempt the actual assessment via the assessment link. Passing mark is 80%.\n5. SUMMARY:Advocacy Mentorship Programme 2023
DESCRIPTION:Dear Guiders and Guides\, \n  \nAre YOU passionate about sustainability? Do YOU want to make a positive change in your community? If so\, join our Advocacy Mentorship Programme 2023! \n  \nThis is a programme for Guides to work in teams of four (all Guides being from the same school) to design and execute an original advocacy project related to one of our four focal UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): \n\n	Climate Action\n	Gender Equality\n	Reducing Inequalities\n	Good Health and Wellbeing\n\n  \nEach team will be paired up with an External Mentor who has substantial experience and knowledge advocating for the chosen SDG. The External Mentor will provide project guidance and feedback to develop the group’s project management and advocacy skills. \n  \nAdvocacy is not simply raising awareness of an issue; it involves mobilising collective action to promote changes in policy\, practices\, or laws. Advocacy should ultimately identify and target one or more decisionmaker(s) (e.g.\, school principal\, community leaders\, Member of Parliament\, or businesses leaders). To learn more about advocacy\, access the WAGGGS toolkit here. \n  \nThis programme will run from April 2023 to October 2023. Within this six-month period\, the team must complete their advocacy project and accumulate at least 10 hours of execution time. ‘Execution’ does not include planning time and refers to any action of creation or advocacy (e.g.\, pitching to decision-maker\, making banners\, setting up and running social media campaigns\, giving speeches\, etc.). \n  \nThere will be an Opening and Closing event at HQ in April and October respectively. However\, apart from these two events\, the dates and times of group meetings and activities will be decided by the group in consultation with their External Mentor and Guider. \n  \nAt the end of the project\, each group will have to submit a project portfolio\, which includes photographs and individual group members’ reflections. All activities during the project period\, and the corresponding time spent on each activity\, should be properly recorded in a Record of Activities. More details will be provided to selected groups. \n  \nThe project can be used to qualify for the President’s Guide Award and\, if other members of the unit are involved in the execution of the project\, the Puan Noor Aishah Award. More details will be provided to selected groups. \n  \nEach group shall select a group leader. The group leader shall submit her group’s application\, after discussion with her teammates and Guider(s) on the project proposal\, to this link. Through various activities\, it aims to break down the common barriers that teenage girls observe or experience and link to WAGGGS leadership mindset. \n  \nThe workshop includes an introduction to the WAGGGS Leadership Framework\, hands-on activities and a guest speaker will be invited to share about their journey in overcoming their own barriers. There will be a post-workshop memento — a self-designed journal that participants can bring home as a reminder to help them to incorporate mindsets. \n  \nBy the end of the workshop\, participants should: \n\n	Gain basic understanding of the WAGGGS leadership mindsets\n	Knowledge on how to incorporate the mindsets into their daily lives\n	Empowered to overcome the personal barriers using the leadership mindsets\n\n  \nEach unit may send up to 5 Guides. DESCRIPTION:Dear Guiders\, Young Adults\, GGS Members and Staff\, \n  \nGirl Guides Singapore (GGS) is happy to share that we have been appointed as the only Local Implementing Partner in Singapore to support the ASEAN Cybersecurity Skilling Programme (ASEAN CSP) under the ASEAN Foundation.  \n  \nIn line with one of our key focus of Gender Equality (Sustainable Development Goal #5)\, GGS hopes to create a greater interest and raise awareness in digital literacy\, internet safety\, cyber security among girls and young women. The ASEAN CSP aims to enhance the capacities of the ASEAN teachers\, NGO/CSO facilitators\, educators\, youth job seekers and fresh graduates across 7 ASEAN-Member States to build a digital ecosystem for the ASEAN community on cybersecurity. \n  \nWe would like to invite you to collaborate with us in the ASEAN CSP. We hope to get your involvement as a Beneficiary receiving knowledge on Cybersecurity through the Empowerment Sessions facilitated by Master Trainers through a series of self-directed and synchronous outreach sessions.  \n  \nParticipants will have potential regional exposure\, access to ASEAN Foundation’s huge network and can look forward to access to Microsoft’s resources on Cybersecurity. All participants will receive an e-certificate and a souvenir patch upon completion of the programme.  \n  \nFor the Beneficiaries\, here are the additional sessions in 2023. The first two sessions will be conducted on: \n\n	8 April\n	Division Learning Days\n\n  \nPlease register here: Participant Registration \n  \nPNAA Leading for Innovation Initiative\nGuide Units which wish to use this programme to complete a Leading for Innovation Initiative can continue with the following. \nSubmit a 1 – 2 page proposal on any of the following:\n– Design an app that assists in educating other girls and young women about the importance of cybersecurity\n– Design an app that will be able to detect cyber security scams e.g. phishing etc.\n– Design a game that teaches other girls and young women about spotting scams and other cybersecurity breaches.\n\nThe initiatives can be submitted as per normal here: PNAA initiative submission \nAs per other initiatives\, Guiders to ensure quality of work before submitting. DESCRIPTION:Dear Brownie Guiders\,   \n   \n At last year’s Guiders’ Conference\, we announced that HQ will be organising the Sixer’s Training Level 2 for P5 Brownies.     \nTo provide an opportunity for all Sixers to have the necessary training\, we will be providing the resources for Sixer’s Training Level 1 for all Guiders to conduct at unit level. (Please look out for our email.)  \n Here are the details for Sixer’s Training Level 2   \n\n	Date: 29 April\n	Time: 8 am to 3 pm\n	Venue: Camp Christine (Pick-up at Guide House)\n	Fee:  $28/ per Brownie (inclusive of lunch and transport from HQ to Camp Christine and back\, training booklet\, Sixer’s patch and the BP Land Challenge fees.) \n\n This is an opportunity for Brownies to step out of their comfort zone by participating in the BP Land Challenge and reflecting on their experience using the Reflective Mindset.  They will practice their leadership skills when they plan and conduct an activity together with their teammates and hence practice using the Collaborative Mindset.   \nSince this is a Level 2 training\, Brownies must meet the following criteria:  \n\n	 Is a sixer or second\n	 Have attended GGS-organised Sixer Training before (e.g. 2022 Online Sixer Training) \n\n            0r  \n           have completed Sixer Training Level 1  \nEach school can send up to 4 Brownies. There will only be 38 places in total. Registration is based on the first-come-first-served and will close once we hit the quota. For registration\, please submit 1 google form per school here.   \n (Detailed programme and RAMS will be provided to Guiders who have successfully registered their Brownies)   \nBrownie Guiders need not accompany their girls for the training as there will be HQ trainers and GGS volunteers throughout the session.  \nAccompanying Brownie Guiders may have to pay for the food and transport.  \nThank you!
