DESCRIPTION:Dear Guide Guiders\,\n\n \n\nAs mentioned in September 2019\, there are changes made to a few of the President’s Guide Award (PGA) Compulsory Badges.\n\n \n\nWith effect from 2020\, the compulsory Homemaker’s Badge (along with a few others) will be trained and tested by the Guiders of the PGA Applicants themselves.\n\n \n\nAs a result\, you are strongly encouraged to attend either one of the two Homemaker’s Badge Workshops on 17 Jan or 8 May 2020.\n\n \n\nGuiders who have attended the previous trainings need not attend this training. The rubrics for standardisation purposes will be disseminated during and after the training.\n\n \n\nYou can claim points for this Skills Workshop and also use it to work towards the Intermediate Skills Badge.\n\n \n\nPlease note that 2 Units per Guider are advised to attend as 1 Guider will assist in training and the other in testing. The details are as follows:\nDate: 26 – 28 May 2020\nVenue of Training : Guide House\nReporting & Dismissal Venue : Guide House\nReporting Date/Time : 8.30am @ 26 May\nDismissal Date / Time : 1pm @ 8 May\nTraining Fee : $100 / Guide (inclusive of meals\, accommodation\, training materials and T-shirt)\n\nObjectives\n· To understand the roles and responsibilities of a Patrol Leader\n· To develop effective leadership and organisation skills\n· To Assist Guiders in managing the unit\n\nTarget Group\n· Guides who are identified as potential leaders or are holding leadership positions\n· Enrolled Guides in Sec 2 / 3\n\nCourse Requirement\n· 100% Attendance\n· Pre-Task: Each Unit must bring a testwork to share at camp. The test work should state:\ni. The learning objectives of the testwork\nii. The instructions on how to carry out the testwork\niii. Able to present and execute the testwork\niv. The activity must be related to any Module of the 5-point programme\n\nRegistration\n• Registration is on a first-come\, first-served basis. Apply their theoretical knowledge of the 3 focus SDGs to practical application in terms of how it translates into the work undertaken by the community partners (e.g. how Unilever’s work with Dove has translated into the Free Being Me programme)\n\nc. DESCRIPTION:Formerly known as Camp Galore\, Galore (GIRLS-IN-ACTION: LEAD\, OUTREACH & EMPOWER) has been revamped to redefine the meaning of outdoors in the Guiding context through new exploration of Outdoor Play. \nThis year\, Galore will be held at Marina Barrage in conjunction with GIRL Rally. It will be held on 30 May 2020\, Sat and open to all. Galore will focus on a series of pre-workshops\, competitions and fringe activities on the day of event. Competitions will focus on 3 underlying themes; WTD 2020 Themes\, Sustainable Development Goals 5\, 10 & 13 and Leave No Trace Principles. \nOne of the Lucky Joker strategies is to study the pay table before you start playing. This will help you to understand the different symbols and their values\, so you can make more informed bets.
