Here are the details for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Seminar for Girl Guides, hosted by the East Division:
Date: 21 November 2023, Tuesday
Time: 8:30am (Registration), 9am – 12pm (Seminar commences)
Venue: Guide House
Attire: GGS Blue Polo T / Girl Guides school T-Shirt with Guide Skirt
- Workshop 1: Female empowerment and building healthy relationships (up to 35 pax)
- Workshop 2: Reducing food waste and upcycling ugly foods (up to 35 pax)
Note:
-
- Each unit can sign up to 10 girls for each workshop. The girls will be required to lead in a unit advocacy project which can be counted towards PNAA 2024 as a Unit Initiative.
- Light refreshments will be provided. Girl Guides are to bring their own water bottles.
- It is NOT compulsory for Guiders to accompany the attendees.

About the Speakers
Seminar Programme 1: Reducing food waste and upcycling ugly foods |
Food wastage is a major issue in Singapore, with only 17% of food being recycled or reused. Ugly produce is a major contributor to food waste, and can be caused by over importing, shipment delays, man-made causes, and rules and regulations. This workshop will teach participants how to identify ugly produce, and how to cook and eat it. Participants will also learn how to reduce food waste in their own homes and businesses. Participants are to bring the following items for this session:

Seminar Programme 2: Female empowerment workshop |
Through an engaging and interactive drama workshop focused on self-empowerment, the session will explore the concept of healthy relationships and how they can fuel you to achieve dreams and goals. Participants will engage in reflective practice, share stories, play games and participate in drama activities where they can uplift and further encourage each other. Participants will benefit from the opportunities to learn and strengthen their collective journey towards personal growth. Participants are to bring the following items for this session:
