East Division Day

01/04/2023 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Dear East Division Guiders,

  1. East Division Day

I’m pleased to announce that we will be celebrating East Division Day (EDD) on 1st April 2023 at Cedar Girls Secondary School.

This year, we are exploring a blended format with several competitions as online submissions and some of them will be done face to face. The EDD theme Our World, Our Peaceful Future supports the UN Sustainability Development Goal (SDG) on Climate Action.

I hope that through the competitions, we would be able to provide a platform for Brownies and Guides to showcase their talents and empowering environmentally conscious girls to become active eco-stewards. Please see details below.

Date: 1st April 2023 (Saturday)

Time: 9:30am – 12:30pm

Venue: Cedar Girls Secondary School (1 Cedar Ave, Singapore 349692)

  1. Juliette Low Seminar @ EDD (for Guides ONLY)

The Juliette Low Seminar (JLS) Team has curated a workshop that will be held on Division Days 2023! The theme of the workshop is: Overcoming personal barriers through WAGGGS Leadership Framework.

This workshop is specifically designed for Girl Guides aged 14 to 15 years old who have leadership potential. Through various activities, it aims to break down the common barriers that teenage girls observe or experience and link to WAGGGS leadership mindset.

The workshop includes an introduction to the WAGGGS Leadership Framework, hands-on activities and a guest speaker will be invited to share about their journey in overcoming their own barriers. There will be a post-workshop memento — a self-designed journal that participants can bring home as a reminder to help them to incorporate mindsets.

By the end of the workshop, participants should:

  • Gain basic understanding of the WAGGGS leadership mindsets
  • Knowledge on how to incorporate the mindsets into their daily lives
  • Empowered to overcome the personal barriers using the leadership mindsets

Each unit may send up to 5 Guides. Sign your Guides up for the JLS here! JLS 100 Girls Project Registration

Note: JLS participants will not be able to participate in F2F competitions on EDD. They will have to consider participating in online submissions instead.

I look forward to seeing you and your girls on East Division Day. All the best in the competition preparations!

Thank you!
