DESCRIPTION:To: All Primary & Secondary School Principals and Guiders \nBASIC TRAINING COURSE 1\, 2022 \n  \nDear Sir/Mdm\, \n  \nGirl Guides Singapore (GGS) will be conducting the Basic Training Course (BTC) in Jan – Mar 2022 for all adult leaders leading the Brownies / Girl Guides’ programme in School. \n  \nThe BTC is a compulsory training course for all teachers who are appointed as Guiders for the school CCA\,  Brownies / Girl Guides. This course will equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to value-add and lead the Brownies / Girl Guides programmes in their Units. The course consist of 3 modules. Leadership practice emphasizes on the daily behaviours you choose to engage in to put your values into action and create positive change. Leadership practice regards your “way s of being and thinking about the world” as the foundation to who you are as a leader. \n  \nThe WAGGGS leadership model uses a system of six mindsets as the main tool to make leadership practice conscious. We believe that girls\, no matter what age\, can consciously practice their leadership to become better leaders. \n  \nTo send your girls for this training\, you can register here: WAGGGS Leadership Model Virtual Training. \n\nParticipating Guides should be at least Sec 2s and above. Each Unit can send up to 8 – 10 Guides for this training. Each training will accommodate up to 40 Guides. DESCRIPTION:Dear Guiders\, \nGGS\, with the support from MOE\, will be conducting workshops on basic facilitation skills for Guiders in the coming months. The workshop is now opened for registration. \n  \nThe objectives of the course as stated by MOE are as follows: \n\n	Identify     key     beliefs     and     demonstrate behaviours of a learning facilitator\n	Use a variety of facilitation strategies to make learning engaging\n	Conduct conversations and energizers in a structured and meaningful manner\n	Adapt activities to achieve the outcomes of a Brownies/Guides session and meet the needs of the learners\n	Design questions to conduct reflection and review of lessons learnt\n\n  \nApproach for the workshops: \n\n	Role-Modelling – Trainer will role-model facilitation via explicit demonstrations of the strategies throughout the entire workshop. DESCRIPTION:Dear Brownie Guiders\, \nHQ is organising the WAGGGS Badge Programme : the Free Being Me (FBM) cum the Action on Body Confidence (ABC) to P5 and P6 Brownies. \nThe Free Being Me (FBM) is a WAGGGS Badge targets at girls and young women. It focuses on empowering girls by improving their confidence and self-esteem to realize their fullest potential. Through fun and interactive activities through different technological platforms\, Brownies will learn that body confidence and self-esteem come from valuing their bodies\, standing up to social pressures and supporting others to be more body confident. \nThe Action on Body Confidence (ABC) has been created to support more girls. It’s a plan and run Action Projects to reach out to more people in a meaningful way. Participants will develop skills in teamwork\, planning\, public speaking and decision making as well as campaigning and community outreach. \n“FBM” and “ABC” co-relates to MOE’s framework fulfilling the following objectives :\n1. Debunk societal myth (Self and Society Awareness)\n2. Create self-awareness in relations to one’s own strengths (Self-Management)\n3. Make responsible decisions about one’s choice (Responsible Decision-Making)\n4. Through fun and interactive activities through different technological platforms\, Brownies will learn that body confidence and self-esteem come from valuing their bodies\, standing up to social pressures and supporting others to be more body confident. \nThe Action on Body Confidence (ABC) has been created to support more girls.
