SUMMARY:Basic Training Course Round 1 Module 1 (for New and Refresher Guiders) (Compulsory)
DESCRIPTION:To: All Primary & Secondary School Principals and Guiders \nBASIC TRAINING COURSE 1\, 2023 \n  \nDear Sir/Mdm\, \n  \nGirl Guides Singapore (GGS) will be conducting the Basic Training Course (BTC) in Jan – Mar 2022 for all adult leaders leading the Brownies / Girl Guides’ programme in School. \n  \nThe BTC is a compulsory training course for all teachers who are appointed as Guiders for the school CCA\,  Brownies / Girl Guides. This course will equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to value-add and lead the Brownies / Girl Guides programmes in their Units. The course consist of 3 modules. All adult leaders must complete all the 3 modules of this course before they can receive their warrant. \n  \nDue to the current COVID19 situation\, the Training Branch had to make adjustments to our current curriculum. \n\n100% attendance is required for the BTC. \n\n\n\n\n Date & Time of Modules \n\n\nVenue \n\n\nPre-Course Requirements \n\n\nAttire \n\n\nLearning Outcomes \n\n\n\n\nModule 1A: Induction & The Fundamentals in Guiding \nPhysical\nPart 1: 4 Feb (9am-4pm) (compulsory) \n11 Feb OR  \nZoom (Guiders to choose one of the following options)\nOption 1: \nP2: 16 Feb (3.30pm – 5.30pm)\nP3: 23 Feb (3.30pm – 5.30pm)\nP4: 2 Mar\nOption 2 \nP2 – P4: 11 Feb (9am – 4pm) \n\n\nGuide House / Zoom \n\n\nSome pre-learning resources will be sent to Guiders \n\n\nNA \n\n\nTo equip Guiders with the necessary knowledge and skills to enable a new Guider to be able to contribute to the eCCA currently conducted in schools. \n\n\n\n\nPre-Camp Training (Guide Guides) \n4 Mar OR 9 Sep \nPre-Pack Holiday Training (Brownie Guiders) \n6 May OR 7 Oct \n\n\nRecreation Area\, Guide House (9 Bishan Street 14 Singapore 579785) \n\n\n TBC \n\n\nGuiders polo T-shirt and navy blue/black pants \n\n\nTo equip Guiders with the essential camping knowledge and skills to conduct the Girl Guides Camp. \n\n\n\n\nModule 2:\nCamp Training (Guide Guiders)  \n\n	9 – 11 Mar\n	28 – 30 Sep\n\nPack Holiday (Brownie Guiders) \n\n	8 – 10 Jun\n	16 – 18 Nov\n\n\n\nCamp Christine\n71 Jalan Bahtera Singapore 719922 \n\n\nCamp materials\, resources\, programmes etc. \n\n\nCamp attire (refer to Kit List which will be distributed later) \n\n\nTo organise and execute a 3 days 2 nights Girl Guides Camp / Pack Holiday confidently. \n\n\n\n\nModule 3: \nUnit Observation\nVia Unit Visit \n\n\nGuider’s School \n\n\nIndividual: \nTo submit a Unit Meeting Programme to be executed on the CCA day to be observed. \n\n\nGuider’s Uniform \n\n\nTo be able to facilitate a Brownies / Girl Guides meeting in school according to GGS’ requirements. \n\n\n\n\n  \nRegistration Details: \n\n	Complete the Uniform Request Form and upload onto the registration form below.\n	Complete the Basic Training Course (BTC) 2023 Round 1 Registration\n	Registration will be confirmed via email.\n	Cost fee: $280 (Guide Guiders) / $350 (Brownie Guiders) per person inclusive of all meals/refreshments\, training materials\, accommodation and Uniform for Guider.\n	The training materials and uniform will be issued out on 4 Feb itself.\n	Closing date: 21 Jan 2022\, Sat.\n\n  \nYou may contact Jasmine at jasmine@girlguides.org.sg for any clarifications. \n  \nLooking forward to hearing from you soon. \n  \nSincerely\, \n  \nDr. Perema Ramasamy & Ms Siti Nurbaya\nTraining Commissioner (Guides) & Training Commissioner (Brownies)
