DESCRIPTION:Dear Guide Guiders\,\n\nThe registration for Baden-Powell Award (BPA) is now open: BPA 2026 Registration\n\nPlease be reminded that with effect from 2020\, BPA is a pre-requisite for application for the President’s Guide Award (PGA).\n\nApplicants who failed the BPA test for the first time will be allowed a second chance to take the BPA test. Each Guide will be given a maximum of TWO times to sit for the test.\n\nThe Baden-Powell Award (BPA) is the highest award given out by our Chief Commissioner to a Girl Guide.\nAll applicants must: \n\n	be below 18 years old in the year of the test;\n	be members of registered Coys of GGS;\n	be deemed by their Guider to have developed to their fullest leadership potential;\n	have attained at least a Silver Badge;\n	have attained any eight Proficiency/ Interest badges.\n\nFor Guiders sending your Guides for this test\, please note that you are required to send a qualified tester from your school. The ratio is 1 tester: 3 BPA candidates. \nThe tester will have to attend the compulsory BPA scripts markings on either 30 or 31 January 2026.\n\nBelow is the information pertaining to the written and execution test for Run 1: \nWritten Test\nDate: 23 January 2026\, Friday\nReporting Time: 2.30 pm\nTime: 3 pm – 5 pm\nVenue: Virtual (Zoom)\nAttire: Full Guide Uniform (Compulsory)\nPlease note that Guides who are late or inappropriately attired will not be allowed to sit for the test.\n\nThings to bring for the Written Test:\n1. DESCRIPTION:Dear Guiders\, \nWe are pleased to bring back Wee Kim Wee Challenge Shield 2025! \nPresident Wee Kim Wee presented Girl Guides Singapore with a shield bearing the Istana’s Coat of Arms in 1994 just before he ended his final term. This Challenge was held on a biennial basis and has seen umpteen Girl Guides through a variety of challenges—each challenging them to exercise creative and critical thinking skills.  \nThe Wee Kim Wee Challenge was revived in 2007 challenging Guides to showcase their culinary skills and present their dishes creatively. DESCRIPTION:Dear Guide Guiders\, \n  \nGirl Guides Singapore is collaborating with various partners to ensure standards of foot drill adhere. Through drill\, habits of precision and response to a Leader’s orders are instilled. As a uniformed group\, we recognize that drill helps to instill discipline\, unity and respect. It is the fastest and most efficient way of gathering girls or moving them in an orderly manner. \n  \nThe Footdrill Proficiency Badge can only be attained through attending the Footdrill Proficiency Badge Course and passing the assessment. The clauses for the Footdrill Proficiency Badge can be found in Annex 1. \n  \nGuiders and Guides can refer to to this link for more information: https://tinyurl.com/GGS-Footdrill-materials \n  \nTo allow our Girls to take on responsibility at an earlier stage in teaching and coaching drill within their Units. This empowering of our Girls will build a sustainable model towards overcoming the challenges of having volunteers to commit their time on weekdays for their contribution to the respective Units. \n  \nDetails of the session as follow: \no    Date: 1 Nov 2025 \no    Time: 08:00 – 13:00 \no    Venue: TBC \no    Costing: $12/Guide \n–  Free-of-Charge for Guiders (GGS will subsidize 100% of the cost). \n–  Unit will be billed through IFAAS. \nLink to consent form: Footdrill Proficiency Badge Course_1 November 2025.pdf \n  \nTarget Audience \no    Guides who are medically fit and have leadership potential. These Guides are likely to be the girls who will lead the Unit in drills. Each session can take up to 72 Guides on a first-come-first-served basis. \no    Guiders are welcome to learn and observe. They must commit to the full duration of the session. \n  \nGGS will send the details and RAMS for the event to the Guiders two weeks before each session. \nIn case of bad weather\, the session will still proceed. However\, GGS may arrange for an extra practical assessment. \n  \nGuides are expected to be in Full Guide Uniform. Do refer to the GGS Drill Manual Chapter 2 Section 1 for the expectations. \n  \nThe passing mark for the assessment is 70%. Upon passing the assessment\, GGS will award the badge to the Guide through GuidingLIGHT. Since its launch in 2012\, more than 600 of our Guides have become GB Ambassadors of the award-winning garden. Guides who have completed the programme discovered more about the vast variety of plants and acquired valuable knowledge on the sustainability efforts of the garden. In addition\, they also gained experience by conducting garden tours as well as facilitating and delivering programmes amidst the beautiful setting. Any absence must be accompanied with a valid reason and/or relevant documentation(s). In the event that your daughter/ward will be absent for rehearsal\, she must inform us at the earliest possible for accountability. Poor attendance and performance may result in dismissal from NDP 2025’s participation. \n  \n2. Selection for Main Contingent and Reserves  \nSAF Trainers will take the lead to conduct continual assessment of the girls for this year’s GG NDP contingent. Trainers and GGS would assess participants on a weekly basis for main contingent on actual day. Final participants would be notified on 9 August 2025 as Trainers would re-evaluate after each rehearsal. \n  \n3. NDP Rehearsal Schedule \nDue to varying reasons\, such as haze\, viral outbreaks etc\, the Organising Committee may subject the rehearsal dates to changes or cancellations. DESCRIPTION:Dear Guide Guiders\,  \n  \nGirl Guides Singapore in collaboration with People’s Association (PA)\, are enhancing youths’ emergency preparedness capabilities and both movements will be proposing a new Interest Badge Programme called the Emergency Preparedness Trooper Badge Programme. \n  \nPlease note the following details: \n  \nPlease note that as part of this badge programme\, the Guides / YAs would be required to complete the following: \n  \nThis includes: \n\n	Training of girls to attain 2 Days First-Aid Training\, CPR and AED Certification workshop facilitated by PA (16 Guides / Young Adults / Adult Leaders per session)\n	Girls involved in at least two local community event to apply their skills.\n\nThese events include: \n\n	sharing of lifesaving trainings to residents\n	assisting SCDF trainers in the demonstration of CPR-AED techniques and procedures\n	providing first-aid coverage for large scale events.\n	The badge is applicable to both a Girl Guide and a Young Adult.\n	Adult Leaders are also welcome to join in\, however\, the badge attained cannot be sewn on the uniform.\n\n  \nPlease note that the trainings will be conducted in the following manner: \n2 Days’ Training is broken down into \n\n	The other day will be a self-directed\, virtual learning that the Guide / YA will be required to complete before attending the physical training’s session.\n	1 day of physical trainings on either 19 April\, 10 May\, 27 June\, 28 June 2025.\n	Please register here\n\n  \nPlease note that the girls that are committed to this programme would be required to \n\n	Complete the First-Aid Training and become a certified First-Aider\n	Complete at least two local community events with People’s Association to apply their skills
