SUMMARY:Mental Health Advocacy Badge Programme (8th run)
DESCRIPTION:Dear Guide Guiders\, \n  \nMental health is everyone’s business. Awareness on mental health is important in order to remove stigma and extend help to those in need. \n  \nGirl Guides Singapore has launched the Mental Health Advocacy Badge Programme in 2021. It is created for the Guides to equip them with the mental health knowledge and skills as well as support them to initiate ground-up mental health projects to increase mental health awareness among their peers\, family and community. We want our girls to be mindful of the current situation and become responsible citizens who will take action to change the world by advocating for mental health to improve the lives of others. \n  \nThe next run of the Mentally LIT training will be held at Guide House on 30 – 31 May 2023 & 1 June 2023\, 8:30 am – 1:00 pm (all three days). \nParticipants will need to complete an action project (group work) after that. DESCRIPTION:Dear Guide Guiders\,  \n  \nObjectives\n· To understand the roles and responsibilities of a Patrol Leader / ACL / CL\n· To develop effective leadership and organisation skills\n· To Assist Guiders in managing the unit \nTarget Group\n· Guides who are identified as potential leaders or are holding leadership positions\n· Enrolled Guides in Sec 2 / 3\n\nCourse Requirement\n– 100% Attendance\n– Pre-Task: Guides will be given work to do during the course itself. We expect the girls to complete the necessary work. \n  \nWe will be trying out a new way of conducting the Patrol Leaders’ Training Course for Guide Leaders in a blended format on the following dates:  \n\n	25 May\, 9am – 4pm (At HQ)\n	6 June\, 9am – 4pm (At HQ)\n	21 June\, 10am – 12pm (Virtual)\n	22 June\, 10am – 12pm (Virtual)\n	27 Jul\, 3.30pm – 5.30pm (Virtual)\n\n  \n\n	This PLTC will cost $40 / Guide.\n	Any Guide who is on MOE FAS Scheme can request for 100% subsidies. There will be a no-show fee if these girls register but do not show up without a valid reason.\n	Each Unit can send up to 5 Guides. Since its launch in 2012\, more than 600 of our Guides have become GB Ambassadors of the award-winning garden. Guides who have completed the programme discovered more about the vast variety of plants and acquired valuable knowledge on the sustainability efforts of the garden. In addition\, they also gained experience by conducting garden tours as well as facilitating and delivering programmes amidst the beautiful setting. DESCRIPTION:Dear Guiders\, Young Adults\, GGS Members and Staff\, \n  \nGirl Guides Singapore (GGS) is happy to share that we have been appointed as the only Local Implementing Partner in Singapore to support the ASEAN Cybersecurity Skilling Programme (ASEAN CSP) under the ASEAN Foundation.  \n  \nIn line with one of our key focus of Gender Equality (Sustainable Development Goal #5)\, GGS hopes to create a greater interest and raise awareness in digital literacy\, internet safety\, cyber security among girls and young women. The ASEAN CSP aims to enhance the capacities of the ASEAN teachers\, NGO/CSO facilitators\, educators\, youth job seekers and fresh graduates across 7 ASEAN-Member States to build a digital ecosystem for the ASEAN community on cybersecurity. \n  \nWe would like to invite you to collaborate with us in the ASEAN CSP. We hope to get your involvement as a Beneficiary receiving knowledge on Cybersecurity through the Empowerment Sessions facilitated by Master Trainers through a series of self-directed and synchronous outreach sessions.  \n  \nParticipants will have potential regional exposure\, access to ASEAN Foundation’s huge network and can look forward to access to Microsoft’s resources on Cybersecurity. All participants will receive an e-certificate and a souvenir patch upon completion of the programme.  \n  \nFor the Beneficiaries\, here are the additional sessions in 2023. The first two sessions will be conducted on: \n\n	8 April\n	Division Learning Days\n\n  \nPlease register here: Participant Registration \n  \nPNAA Leading for Innovation Initiative\nGuide Units which wish to use this programme to complete a Leading for Innovation Initiative can continue with the following. \nSubmit a 1 – 2 page proposal on any of the following:\n– Design an app that assists in educating other girls and young women about the importance of cybersecurity\n– Design an app that will be able to detect cyber security scams e.g. phishing etc.\n– Design a game that teaches other girls and young women about spotting scams and other cybersecurity breaches.\n\nThe initiatives can be submitted as per normal here: PNAA initiative submission \nAs per other initiatives\, Guiders to ensure quality of work before submitting. DESCRIPTION:Dear Guide Guiders\, \n  \nIt’s with great pleasure for us this year to invite the Guides to participate in the National Day Parade 2023 (NDP 2023) under the Parade & Ceremony (P&C) segment. NDP 2023 is a special year as we are back to a full parade!! \n  \nThere are two parts to this email. \n\n	Recruitment of Guides\n\nGGS is recruiting a total of 45 Guides to take part in NDP 2023. The training sessions for NDP will take place on all Saturdays from 20 May to 9 August 2023. The reporting and dismissal venue is GGS HQ (9 Bishan St 14 Singapore 579785). \n  \nGuides are expected to put in full commitment to all rehearsals and training dates and be in full Guide uniform with marching boots for all sessions. Awareness on mental health is important in order to remove stigma and extend help to those in need. \n  \nGirl Guides Singapore has launched the Mental Health Advocacy Badge Programme in 2021. It is created for the Guides to equip them with the mental health knowledge and skills as well as support them to initiate ground-up mental health projects to increase mental health awareness among their peers\, family and community. We want our girls to be mindful of the current situation and become responsible citizens who will take action to change the world by advocating for mental health to improve the lives of others. \n  \nThe next run of the Mentally LIT training will be held at Guide House on 14 – 16 March 2023\, 8:30 am – 1:00 pm (all three days). \nParticipants will need to complete an action project (group work) after that. DESCRIPTION:Dear Guiders\,\n\nAs the current online mode for the SANA Badge has received positive feedback across the board for its flexibility in completing the readings and assessment.\n\nWe will be scheduling a few months namely\, March\, May and October in 2023 for the girls to partake in the SANA Anti-Drug & Inhalant Abuse Badge Programme.\n\nPlease note that the badge programme will cost $4.00 / Guide and there is no limit to the number of girls you can choose to send.\n\nPlease see the process below:\n1. Register for your girls in Google Form (the deadline for registration for each session is by end of Feb\, Apr and Jul)\n2. GGS will email SANA with the number of girls for confirmation\n3. GGS will then send resources to Guiders the reading materials\, practice link and assessment link before the period.\n4. Guides can do their self-study and login anytime during the period to complete the online assessment. Guides are to practice for the quiz using the practice link before they attempt the actual assessment via the assessment link. Passing mark is 80%.\n5. The programme will challenge them to take the lead by taking action in their community\, sharing what they have learnt with their peers. \n  \nThis is an opportunity to develop and sharpen participants’ planning\, organising and leadership skills.
