DESCRIPTION:Dear Guide Guiders\, \nHere are the details for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Seminar for Girl Guides\, hosted by the East Division:  \nDate: 21 November 2023\, Tuesday \nTime: 8:30am (Registration)\, 9am – 12pm (Seminar commences) \nVenue: Guide House \nAttire: GGS Blue Polo T / Girl Guides school T-Shirt with Guide Skirt \n\n	Workshop 1: Female empowerment and building healthy relationships (up to 35 pax)\n	Workshop 2: Reducing food waste and upcycling ugly foods (up to 35 pax)\n\n  \nNote:  \n\n	\n\n	Each unit can sign up to 10 girls for each workshop. The girls will be required to lead in a unit advocacy project which can be counted towards PNAA 2024 as a Unit Initiative.  \n	Light refreshments will be provided. Guiders may wish to engage the participants separately in school to continue the conversations.\n\n\n\n\n\n12:00 PM \n\n\nGuides will assist with general area cleanliness before dismissal. \n\n\n\n\nAttire \n\n\nGGS Blue Polo T / Girl Guides school T-Shirt with Guide Skirt \n\n\n\n\nLogistics \n\n\nPlease refer to the information on page 2. \n\n\n\n\n  \nAbout the Speakers \n  \n\n\n\n\nSeminar Programme 1: Reducing food waste and upcycling ugly foods \n\n\n\n\nFood wastage is a major issue in Singapore\, with only 17% of food being recycled or reused. Ugly produce is a major contributor to food waste\, and can be caused by over importing\, shipment delays\, man-made causes\, and rules and regulations. This workshop will teach participants how to identify ugly produce\, and how to cook and eat it. Participants will also learn how to reduce food waste in their own homes and businesses. \n\nParticipants are to bring the following items for this session:  \n\n	Water bottle and personal medication\n	Writing materials\n	A light jacket (in case it gets cold)\n	Small lunch box\n	Small butter knife/ bamboo knife\n	In the case of any allergies\, nuts of any kind will not be provided for this session. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeminar Programme 2: Female empowerment workshop \n\n\n\n\nThrough an engaging and interactive drama workshop focused on self-empowerment\, the session will explore the concept of healthy relationships and how they can fuel you to achieve dreams and goals. Participants will engage in reflective practice\, share stories\, play games and participate in drama activities where they can uplift and further encourage each other.
