SUMMARY:WTD FRIENDSHIP VILLAGE
DESCRIPTION:Dear all\, \nGet ready for a vibrant celebration at the 2026 World Thinking Day Friendship Village — a lively carnival-style showcase featuring booths from Guide and Brownie units\, GGS partners\, and international Guiding communities. With booths themed around the 5 Point Programme and the WTD26 PAL Concept\, Units will bring their topics to life through fun\, hands-on games and interactive activities designed to educate and engage. \n\nThis year’s Friendship Village invites participants to dive into immersive experiences that spark curiosity and deepen connection through play. Each visitor will receive an activity card to collect stamps at booths\, unlocking cool rewards like snacks\, photo booth moments\, and exclusive merchandise — all to amplify the festive carnival spirit! \n\nObjectives: \n● Celebrate and share Guiding experiences across our global family\n● Create lasting memories of friendship\, learning\, and fun during this special centenary year \nBooth requirements: \n\n● Units can sign up for one booth; topics are assigned on a first-come\, first-served basis.\n● Booths should engage 6 to 8 participants simultaneously through interactive games or activities that teach the topic experientially – moving beyond the traditional ‘show-n-tell’ informative methods. \nBooth topics can be found in Annex B. Sign up early and be part of this unforgettable carnival of friendship and learning! \nSubmission link: HERE by 12 September 2025\, 5 pm. \nNote: Collaboration between Units will be dependent on sign ups. \nLogistics and Budget\n● Units will receive booth guidelines after registration has closed.\n● Each booth can claim up to $150. Receipts must be provided for claims to be valid. \nHere is a rough estimate of the expected expenditure on the logistics required for the booths: \n  \n\n\n\nBooth Materials\nEstimated Amount\nRemarks\n\n\nA1 Size Posters\n$40 – 50\nMax 1-2 pcs*\n\n\nMaterials for games/ hands-on activities\n$50 – 100\nUnits are to make use of sustainable materials wherever possible\n\n\n\n  \n*Units are encouraged to minimize posters and show-n-tell presentations\, using their booth space instead to facilitate interactive activities like games or crafts. Posters should be presentable and can be professionally printed (within budget) or self-designed and printed. \n  \nYours sincerely\, \nMs Joyce Seek \nDeputy Chief Commissioner

From that day forward\, it has been celebrated as World Thinking Day: a global occasion where Girl Guides and Girl Scouts unite to honour international friendship\, strengthen global bonds\, and reflect on the far-reaching impact of our Movement. \n\nIn 2026\, we celebrate a once-in-a lifetime milestone – the 100th anniversary of World Thinking Day! For a century\, this special day has been a beacon of connection\, inspiration\, and shared purpose across borders and cultures. It is a moment to cherish our shared story\, celebrate the shared friendships that span the globe\, and reaffirm the values that continue to guide and shape the Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting Movement into the future. \n\nTheme – Our Friendship \nOur Friendship celebrates the connections that unite our Movement across borders\, generations and cultures. World Thinking Day 2026 is part of a four-year series exploring our history\, symbolism\, people and future. Through this theme\, we honour the values of our Movement\, deepen our global sisterhood and reflect on how we can support and empower girls.\nThis year’s celebration focuses on the PAL concept: \n\n● Promise: The foundation of our Guiding values\, united by our actions\n● Appreciate: Honouring our past and embracing every generation\, and\n● Love: The joy and connection that lives in the heart of Guiding\, and in every friendship built \n\nGirl Guides Singapore Celebrates! This year’s World Thinking Day celebrations will take place on Saturday\, 7 February 2026\, ahead of the Lunar New Year and Hari Raya Puasa holidays\, and will launch a series of celebratory events running until 27 February 2026. SUMMARY:Grow In Leadership Facilitation Workshop(12 Mar -17 Mar)
DESCRIPTION:For ten years\, WAGGGS has been developing a unique facilitation and experiential learning approach for adults\, based on our educational method and developed in a highly diverse global environment.\n\nThis approach empowers adults in their learning. It values the learning styles of each adult\, appreciating that we all learn differently. It supports collaboration and encourages creative thinking. It makes workshops feel relevant to each learner and takes advantage of diversity in all forms to create a rich peer learning environment. Facilitators who use this approach can work with highly diverse groups in different contexts\, including international workshops and seminars.\n\nAfter completing this intensive four-day facilitation workshop\, facilitators will be given feedback by their peers and by the workshop leaders and will set development goals for their ongoing journeys as leaders and facilitators. In the future\, based on further demonstration of their skills\, some participants may be invited to join the WAGGGS facilitator pool.\n\nTrina Chia\nTelephone: +65 62599391\nEmail: trina@girlguides.org.sg
