SUMMARY:UWS Girls2Pioneers Interest Badge 2025
DESCRIPTION:Dear Guide Guiders and Young Adults\,  \n  \nFollowing the UWS Girls2Pioneers Interest Badge Launch on World Thinking Day 2025 Celebrations on 22 February\, we are pleased to bring to you the relevant details of the badge programme in this email.  \n  \nUnited Women Singapore (UWS) is a local non-profit organisation that advances women’s empowerment and gender equality. UWS works towards narrowing the gender equality gap through education and advocacy with the support of partners from the public and private sectors. Girl Guides Singapore has been collaborating with United Women Singapore (UWS) through ad hoc STEM initiatives. UWS is currently one of the mentors for the Special Project Committee’s Advocacy Mentorship Programme. This is the first official badge programme that UWS has launched.  \n  \nThis programme will highlight the United Nations Development Goal (UNSDG) 5: Gender Equality. \n  \nKey objectives of the programme include: \n\n	Inspiring young women and girls to consider careers in STEM\n	Providing a deeper understanding of STEM fields\n\n  \nBadge Clauses \n\n	A Guide is expected to attend the required number of sessions as agreed with United Women Singapore. This includes:\n\n	UWS STEM Fest\n	another two other sessions organised by UWS such as:\n\n	in-person workshops\n	webinars organised by UWS\n	office visit to STEM organisation\n\n\n\n\n	The Guide will reflect on and showcase three key takeaways from her UWS experience by sharing them with at least 15 members. This can be done through various formats such as a poster\, booth display\, or hands-on activities.\n\nThe Guide/Young Adult who completes all clauses will receive:\n\n\n	a Certificate of Completion from UWS\n	UWS Girls2Pioneers Interest Badge\n\n  \nApplication for Badge Programme \n\n	Refer to UWS Collateral information (see attached)\n	Join the whatsapp group with UWS to be updated on the upcoming workshops options for the girls.\n	Register and attend the relevant workshops\n	Register and attend the UWS Stem Fest in June\n	Complete clause two after completion of workshops\n	Submit the relevant information in this Google Form\n	Wait for email from GGS HQ to collect the e-certificate and physical badge from HQ.\n\n \nShould you have any other questions\, please feel free to drop us an email.  \n  \nThank you! \n  \nMrs Koh-Teh Yi Wen\nChief Commissioner

In collaboration with WAGGGS and the KLA Foundation\, this initiative empowers girls and adult leaders to: \n🔹 Earn the WAGGGS STEM Changemakers Badge\n🔹 Develop hands-on STEM skills with real-world applications\n🔹 Break barriers and advocate for inclusivity in STEM\n🔹 Tackle global challenges through innovation \nAs one of the few Member Organisations leading this\, we’re excited to inspire the next generation of female STEM leaders!  \nHere’s how you can be a part of this incredible initiative!  \n\n\n\n\nRole \n\n\nFor \n\n\nRemarks \n\n\n\n\nMember of the Co-creation team \n\nDevelopment of curriculum in collaboration with WAGGGS \n\n\n	Shape a fun\, girl-friendly STEM curriculum\n	Ensure cultural relevance across MOs\n	Pilot and refine hands-on activities\n	Empower leaders with STEM resources\n\n\n\nGirl Guides\, Guiders\, and Young Adults \n\n\nCommitment period: Mid April – June 2025 \n\n3 Girl Guides \n3 Guiders \n\nFirst meeting will kick off on 9th April \n\n\n\n\n\n\nPilot programme testers  \n\nDrafting process with leaders to present sample activities and collect feedback. Leaders will then test the activities with up to 50 Guides. \n\n\nGuiders and Young Adults \n\n\nCommitment period:  \nMay 2025  \n\nThere will be 2 sessions\, a briefing session and the pilot testing session. \n\nMore details will be released soon\, together with the registration form. \n\n\n\n\nMaster Trainers \n\nWAGGGS’ Master Training is open to all leaders—no STEM experience required! Gain the skills to inspire Girl Guides and create a ripple effect impacting 1\,600 community members. Join us in shaping a future where every girl thrives in STEM! \n\n\nGuiders and Young Adults \n\n\nCommitment period: \nJuly 2025 onwards \n\nMore details will be released soon\, together with the registration form. \n\n\n\n\nWe are currently only accepting sign ups for Guides and Guiders as members of the co-creation team.
