SUMMARY:SANA Anti-Drug & Inhalant Abuse Badge Programme Round 1
DESCRIPTION:Dear Guiders\,\n\nAs the current online mode for the SANA Badge has received positive feedback across the board for its flexibility in completing the readings and assessment.\n\nWe will be scheduling a few months namely\, March\, May and October in 2023 for the girls to partake in the SANA Anti-Drug & Inhalant Abuse Badge Programme.\n\nPlease note that the badge programme will cost $4.00 / Guide and there is no limit to the number of girls you can choose to send.\n\nPlease see the process below:\n1. Register for your girls in Google Form (the deadline for registration for each session is by end of Feb\, Apr and Jul)\n2. GGS will email SANA with the number of girls for confirmation\n3. GGS will then send resources to Guiders the reading materials\, practice link and assessment link before the period.\n4. Guides can do their self-study and login anytime during the period to complete the online assessment. Guides are to practice for the quiz using the practice link before they attempt the actual assessment via the assessment link. Passing mark is 80%.\n5. SUMMARY:National Day Parade 2023 Open Call & Registration! (for Young Adults)
DESCRIPTION:Dear Young Adults (YAs)\, \n  \nIt’s with great pleasure for us this year to invite YAs to participate in the National Day Parade 2023 (NDP 2023) which will be held at Padang. \n  \nHere are the roles available:   \n1)    Contingent Commander or Contingent Commander (Reserve) – Selection will be done by appointed SAF Trainers. \nYAs who wish be part of the parade as Contingent Commander or Contingent Commander (Reserve) for GG Marching Contingent MUST attend ALL trainings. \n  \nPlease note the following selection criteria: \n\n	Singaporean or Singapore PRs only\n	Minimum height of 1.52m\n	Have basic knowledge of foot drill\n\n\n	Be in good physical\, mental and emotional health and/or not suffering from the following illnesses\n	asthma\, vertigo\, angina\, gastritis\, allergies (e.g. heat\, perspiration\, sun etc.)\, not able to stand in the sun for more than 20 minutes\, fits/seizures\, bones/muscular disorders\,  etc\n\n\n	YA who are severely overweight (>130%) or severely underweight (<70%) should seek medical approval before participating.\n	YA MUST be able to attend ALL rehearsals once selected to participate in the contingent.\n	YA who need to be away from Singapore during her school vacation period or who is unable to commit to the weekly trainings are advised not to participate.  \n	CC(s) who is absent too often will be replaced.\n\n  \nAND/OR \n  \n2)  Contingent Helper – 3 YAs will be required at each training/rehearsal from 20 May onwards.   \n  \nYAs who volunteer for this service must: \n\n	a)    Be in good health and able to stand for long hours under the hot sun.\n	b)    Attend the briefing on 15 April 2023\, 10am.\n\n  \nHere are the roles and responsibilities: \n\n	a)Conduct uniform and hair check of the Guides\n	b)Assist in keeping/distributing Guides’ belongings in HQ lockers\n	c)Accompany the Guides by chartered bus to/fro the holding area and HQ\n	d)Keep track of time and avoid delays for trainings/activities/visits/meals\n	e)Help to distribute meals/snacks/drinks/sweets\n	f)Take care of the well-being of the Guides\n	g)Look out for Star Award recipient of the day\n	h)Take photographs for uploading on GGS’ Social Media Accounts\n	i)Accompany Guides to/ fro Holding Area / FUP during movement period\n	j)Accompany Guides on reserve at Holding Area / FUP during training hours\n	k)Accompany Guides to MRT Circle Line / Red Line / Bus Interchange after dismissal from HQ.\n\n  \nYAs will be awarded HQ Service Points upon completion of the National Day Parade after 9 August 2023. \n  \nPlease complete and submit the necessary in the Google Form link here. Your NDP 2023 – Health & Consent form for YAs (see attached) must be completed and uploaded in the Google Form as well. \n  \nDeadline for submission is on 1 April 2023\, Saturday. SUMMARY:National Day Parade 2023 Open Call
DESCRIPTION:Dear Guide Guiders\, \n  \nIt’s with great pleasure for us this year to invite the Guides to participate in the National Day Parade 2023 (NDP 2023) under the Parade & Ceremony (P&C) segment. NDP 2023 is a special year as we are back to a full parade!! \n  \nThere are two parts to this email. \n\n	Recruitment of Guides\n\nGGS is recruiting a total of 45 Guides to take part in NDP 2023. The training sessions for NDP will take place on all Saturdays from 20 May to 9 August 2023. The reporting and dismissal venue is GGS HQ (9 Bishan St 14 Singapore 579785). \n  \nGuides are expected to put in full commitment to all rehearsals and training dates and be in full Guide uniform with marching boots for all sessions. Full training and rehearsal dates can be found in the Health Consent Form to parents. \n  \n\n	\n\n	Selection Criteria\n\n\n\nPlease note the following selection criteria: \n\n	Singaporean or Singapore PRs only\n	Minimum height of 1.52m\n	Have basic knowledge of footdrills\n	Preferably Guides who are in Secondary 2 & 3.\n	Not suffering from the following illnesses – asthma\, vertigo\, angina\, gastritis\, allergic to heat and perspiration (rashes)\, not able to stand in the sun for more than 20 minutes\, weak ankles\, etc.\n	Participants who are severely overweight (>130%) or severely underweight (<70%) should seek medical approval before participating.\n	Participants MUST be able to attend ALL training once selected to participate in the contingent.\n\n  \n\n	\n\n	Submission of Video for Selection Requirement\n\n\n\nAll interested participants would be required to submit a video of their foot drills competencies in the Google Form below (please see attachment; NDP 2023 Guides Selection Video Requirements). \n  \n\n	\n\n	Submission of Health Forms and Video for Selection on Google Form.\n\n\n\nAll interested participants would be required to complete and submit the following: \n\n	Google Form with basic details of interested participants\n	Health & Parent Consent Form (can be retrieved from this email)\n	Submission of Video of Footdrills For Selection\n	Layout of the Participants in the Video\n\nEverything can be submitted via this one Google Form: NDP 2023 Google Form (For Guides) \nAll submissions need to be uploaded onto Google Form by 8 April 2023. \n  \nOthers \n\n	Guides who participate in NDP will have an added advantage to attain the Guide Footdrill Proficiency Badge.\n	PNAA points are available for all Guides who participate in the NDP.\n	Guiders to ensure that all the relevant consent from parents / guardians and school leaders must be collected before submission.\n	Shortlisted participants will be informed by 18 April 2023\, Tuesday.\n	There will be a compulsory briefing for shortlisted participants on 29 April 2023\, Sat at 10am.\n\n  \n\n	 Call out for Guiders and YAs!\n\nWe would like to invite all Guiders (regardless of whether you have girls participating) and YAs to come forward as Contingent Helpers/Point of Contact of the GGS’ contingent. \n  \nThe role of the Guiders and YAs are: \n\n	accompany the Guides on their training & rehearsals on Saturdays. \n	check the uniform and mark attendance of the Guides\n	take care of the well-being of the Guides\n	ensure that the day’s schedule (training\, resting\, meals\, rehearsal) planned by the Organiser is adhered to.\n\n  \nOther Criteria \n\n	Guiders and YAs who volunteer for this service must be in good health\n	They would be required to accompany the contingent throughout the day\n	Guiders of Guides who are already participating in NDP will\, be default\, need to be involved as Contingent Helpers.\n	Depending on the number of Guiders and YAs who volunteer\, a roster may be put up.\n	PNAA Points:\n\n\n	Each Unit’s Guider(s) will need to take at least 3 sessions to qualify for the relevant PNAA Points\n	Guiders from the same Coy may split the 3 sessions amongst themselves.\n\n\n\n  \nPlease submit your registration details and health form here.
