SUMMARY:SKM Kindness Badge Award (Junior)
DESCRIPTION:Dear Brownie Guiders\, \n  \nSKM Kindness Badge Junior 2023_Circular (Primary) \n  \nThe Kindness Badge is a mark of distinction awarded by SKM to students in the Uniformed Groups (UGs). It recognises their efforts at completing tasks that promote kindness and graciousness within their UGs\, schools\, families and in the larger community. The Kindness Badge Junior (KBJ) programme is designed for primary school students in UGs and it identifies them as ambassadors of kindness. \nThere are two levels of the KBJ programme\, of which the latter is optional: \n  \n\n	Basic Level: Students must complete tasks and initiatives using an activity booklet that will guide them through their Kindness Badge journey. Within this level\, there are three sections titled Discovering Kindness\, Exemplifying Kindness and Inspiring Kindness. Completing these three sections will enable students to achieve a badge each.\n	Advanced Level (Optional): To attain an additional collar pin\, students may proceed to this level challenging them to research community issues and suggest ways to address them. More details can be found in the activity booklet provided.\n\nYou may register your students for the programme through the registration link found on the Kindness Badge website: https://badge.kindness.sg/kindness-badge-junior/ \n  \nUpon registration\, you will be notified about the collection of activity booklets from Headquarters (for Brownies and Cub Scouts) or SKM (for the other UGs). DESCRIPTION:Dear Guide Guiders\,  \n  \nThe Kindness Badge is a mark of distinction awarded by SKM to students in the Uniformed Groups (UGs). It recognises their efforts at completing projects promoting kindness and graciousness within their schools and community. Participating students will hone their critical thinking skills and creativity through the ideation and implementation of projects addressing social issues. \n  \nThe KBA programme returns in 2023 with its two phases: \nKBA Phase I: UGs will select a workshop type to attend. \nA) Workshop on valuable skills to implement in-person outreach projects (For physical initiatives championing kindness)\nB) Workshop on social media content creation skills (For digital campaigns championing kindness) \nBoth workshops will cover various kindness themes and design-thinking tools\, preparing students for their projects in KBA Phase 2. \nWorkshop registration may be done through our KBA website at https://badge.kindness.sg/events/. \n  \nKBA Phase 2: Using the skills gained from Phase I\, students will team up to plan a kindness campaign) and submit a project proposal to SKM for approval before the project execution. Projects may be implemented on online platforms\, in school or in the community to create awareness on a selected kindness theme. Report submission to SKM is required after project completion. \nEach Unit can submit a maximum of 3 projects. \n\nStudents who complete both KBA Phases I and 2 will be invited to our Kindness Awards Ceremony in January 2024 to receive their Kindness Badge and certificate. \n  \nThe timeline for KBA 2023 is as follows: \n\n\n\nItem\nDate / Period\n\n\nSubmission of KBA Project Proposal\nJanuary – 8 May 2023\n\n\nProject Approval by SKM\nWithin 2 weeks of submission date\n\n\nKBA Project Execution Submission of KBA Final Report\nAfter receiving approval 21 August 2023\n\n\nKindness Awards Ceremony\nJanuary 2024\n\n\n\nNote: Students attending the KBA workshops (Phase I) held from July to August 2023 may complete their projects (Phase 2) the following year and will attain the kindness badge in 2024. \n\nFor further enquiries\, please email (Ms) Sarcthy at sarcthy@kindness.sg.
