In this programme\, the Guides who are Smoke Free Ambassadors will be given an opportunity to make significant impact to the community by educating their peers to promote a smoke free environment and at the same time help to reduce cancer in Singapore. Through the programme the Guides are challenged to innovate and create meaningful anti-smoking campaigns to encourage their peers to either quit smoking or not smoke at all. The workshop is now opened for registration. Guiders can register for up to five P4 & P5 Brownies (Sixers / Seconds / Brownies with potential leadership) per school. \nThe objectives of the course as stated by MOE are as follows: \n\n Identify     key     beliefs     and     demonstrate behaviours of a learning facilitator\n Use a variety of facilitation strategies to make learning engaging\n Conduct conversations and energizers in a structured and meaningful manner\n Adapt activities to achieve the outcomes of a Brownies/Guides session and meet the needs of the learners\n Design questions to conduct reflection and review of lessons learnt\n\n Approach for the workshops: \n\n Role-Modelling – Trainer will role-model facilitation via explicit demonstrations of the strategies throughout the entire workshop. Debriefs will be conducted to unpack participants’ observations and distil learning points.\n Hands-On Small Group Exercises – Direct experience is key to the learning and participants will work in small groups to practise the methods in customized work-related scenarios/ real-world contexts.\n Affirming Feedback – Peer & trainer feedback is provided in a way that is meaningful\, affirming and encouraging.\n Structured Reflections – Self-reflections are weaved throughout the workshop to enhance understanding of key concepts and techniques.\n\nWorkshop Details \nPlease note that all workshops are based on a first-come\, first-serve basis.
