SUMMARY:Basic Training Course Round 1 (Blended)
DESCRIPTION:To: All Primary & Secondary School Principals and Guiders \nBASIC TRAINING COURSE I\, 2021 \n  \nDear Sir/Mdm\, \n  \nGirl Guides Singapore (GGS) will be conducting the Basic Training Course (BTC) in Jan – Feb 2021 for all adult leaders leading the Brownies / Girl Guides’ programme in School. \n  \nThe BTC is a compulsory training course for all teachers who are appointed as Guiders for the school CCA\,  Brownies / Girl Guides. This course will equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to value-add and lead the Brownies / Girl Guides programmes in their Units. The course consist of 3 modules. All adult leaders must complete all the 3 modules of this course before they can receive their warrant. \n  \nDue to the current COVID19 situation\, the Training Branch had to make adjustments to our current curriculum. \n\n100% attendance is required for the BTC. \n\n\n\n\n Date & Time of Modules \n\n\nVenue \n\n\nPre-Course Requirements \n\n\nAttire \n\n\nLearning Outcomes \n\n\n\n\nModule 1A: Induction & The Fundamentals in Guiding \n23 Jan\, Sat: 9am – 5pm \n28 Jan\, Thurs: 2.30pm – 5.30pm \n18 Feb\, Thurs: 2.30pm – 5.30pm \n\n\nGuide House \n& Zoom \n\n\nSome pre-learning resources will be sent to Guiders \n\n\nNA \n\n\nTo equip Guiders with the necessary knowledge and skills to enable a new Guider to be able to contribute to the eCCA currently conducted in schools. \n\n\n\n\nFacilitation Workshop \nGuiders will choose one date that is most suitable for them.  \n27 Mar\, Sat \n23 Apr\, Fri \n18 Sep \n\n\nZoom \n\n\n NA \n\n\nGuiders polo T-shirt and navy blue/black pants \n\n\nTo equip Guiders with facilitation skills to make Guide meetings engaging\, fun and meaningful. \n  \n*This workshop is supported and subsidised for by MOE. \n\n\n\n\nPre-Camp Training (Guide Guides) \n\n	29 May 2021\, Sat OR\n	21 Aug 2021\, Sat.\n\nPre-Pack Holiday Training (Brownie Guiders) \n30 Oct 2021\, Sat \n\n\nRecreation Area\, Guide House (9 Bishan Street 14 Singapore 579785) \n\n\n TBC \n\n\nGuiders polo T-shirt and navy blue/black pants \n\n\nTo equip Guiders with the essential camping knowledge and skills to conduct the Girl Guides Camp. \n\n\n\n\nModule 2:\nCamp Training (Guide Guiders)  \n\n	25 – 27 Aug 2021 OR\n	16 – 18 Nov 2021\n\nPack Holiday (Brownie Guiders) \n\n	16 – 18 Nov 2021\n\n\n\nCamp Christine\n71 Jalan Bahtera Singapore 719922 \n\n\nCamp materials\, resources\, programmes etc. \n\n\nCamp attire (refer to Kit List which will be distributed later) \n\n\nTo organise and execute a 3 days 2 nights Girl Guides Camp / Pack Holiday confidently. \n\n\n\n\nModule 3: \nUnit Observation\nVia Unit Visit \n\n\nGuider’s School \n\n\nIndividual: \nTo submit a Unit Meeting Programme to be executed on the CCA day to be observed. \n\n\nGuider’s Uniform \n\n\nTo be able to facilitate a Brownies / Girl Guides meeting in school according to GGS’ requirements. \n\n\n\n\n  \nRegistration Details: \n\n	Submit a copy of the BTC2021 Registration Form to Jasmine at jasmine@girlguides.org.sg\n	Registration will be confirmed via email.\n	Cost fee: $380 (Guide Guiders) / $420 (Brownie Guiders) per person inclusive of all meals/refreshments\, training materials\, accommodation and Uniform for Guider.\n	Collection of training materials and uniform from the Guide shop at Bishan will be further advised.\n	Closing date: 16 Jan 2021\, Sat.\n\n  \nYou may contact Jasmine at jasmine@girlguides.org.sg for any clarifications. \n  \nLooking forward to hearing from you soon. \n  \nSincerely\, \n  \nDr. Perema Ramasamy & Ms Janet Kwek\nTraining Commissioner (Guides) & Training Commissioner (Brownies)
