DESCRIPTION:BPA 2021 Round 1\, 2 Jul\n\nDear Guide Guiders\,\n\nThe registration for Baden-Powell Award (BPA) is now open: BPA 2021 Registration\n\nPlease be reminded that with effect from 2020\, BPA is a pre-requisite for application for the President’s Guide Award (PGA).\n\nApplicants who failed the BPA test for the first time will be allowed a second chance to take the BPA test. Each Guide will be given a maximum of TWO times to sit for the test.\n\nThe Baden-Powell Award (BPA) is the highest award given out by our Chief Commissioner to a Girl Guide.\nAll applicants must:\n• be below 18 years old in the year of the test;\n• be members of registered Coys of GGS;\n• be deemed by their Guider to have developed to their fullest leadership potential;\n• have attained at least a Silver Badge;\n• have attained any eight Proficiency / Interest Badges.\n\nBelow is the information pertaining to the written and execution test for Round 1\,\nWritten Test date: 2 July 2021\, Fri\nExecution Test date: To be completed by: 11 Sep 2021\nReporting Time: 2.30 pm\nTime: 3 pm – 5 pm (written test)\nVenue: Virtual\nAttire: Full Guide Uniform (Compulsory)\nPlease note that Guides who are late or inappropriately attired will not be allowed to sit for the test.\n\nThe deadline for BPA Round 2 Registration is 30 June 2021\, Wednesday.\n\nThings to bring for the Written Test:\n• School Calendar (Semester 2 is enough. This will be submitted together with answer script)\n• Copy of 5-Point Programme Modules & Clauses \n• GGS Calendar (Semester 2 is enough)\n• Stationery\n• Planning Template (as many as you think your Guides require)\n\nFor Guiders sending your Guides for this test\, please note that you are required to send a qualified tester from your school.\n\nThe tester will have to attend the compulsory BPA scripts markings on either 9 Jul (2.30pm – 5pm) / 10 Jul (9.30am – 12pm) 2021.\n\nFor every three BPA applications\, the Unit must provide one BPA tester.\n\nThank you.

DESCRIPTION:The badge programme offers our Guides an opportunity to not only develop their presentation and social interaction skills and will also steer the Guides towards an aptitude for self-directed learning. The programme is delivered in an enjoyable and experiential manner via scavenger hunts and field investigations supervised by professional horticulturists. Hence it is a unique learning experience for any Guide who wants to know more about nature.

DESCRIPTION:Dear Guiders\,\n\n \n\nOnline Handbook – GuidingLIGHT\n\nGuiders were equipped on the use of GuidingLIGHT after they have attended the training sessions that were conducted since April. There will be three more sessions left and we strongly urge you to sign up for the upcoming trainings so that you can better use this platform during this period. These trainings are all done via Zoom Meeting.\n\n \n\nAll Brownie and Guide Guiders should sign up for at least one of these sessions. Guiders who attend the session will also be awarded Skills Badge – Online Handbook e-certificate. For Guiders who have already attended our earlier Expert Training session in February\, there is no need to sign up for these sessions.\n\n \n\n 	 GuidingLIGHT Training Sessions for Guiders\n 	a) Beginner Training – for all Guiders who are unfamiliar or have difficulty with GuidingLIGHT (choose one date)\n\n\n 	12 June (Friday) 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm\n 	27 June (Saturday) 9:00 am – 11:30 am\n\nPlease sign up using this link https://forms.gle/Dfqy1mPon6CQ6Vzg9\n\n 	b) Intermediate Training – for all Guiders who are familiar with GuidingLIGHT\n\n\n 	3 July 2020 (Friday) 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm\n\nPlease sign up using this link https://forms.gle/vHCxRkKi5fDMsPj99\n\n \n\n \n\nInstructions :\n\n 	i) You must have a username\n 	ii) You have to be able to login to GuidingLIGHT prior to the training\n\niii) Contact jalilah.johar@girlguides.org.sg or michelle@threelearning.com for assistance at least three days before the training if you need help with the above\n\n 	iv) Do make sure that the microphone\, audio and video on the laptop are working before joining the Zoom Meeting. The details for the meeting will be sent to the participants nearer the date of training.\n\nThe training sessions will help further equip Guiders on the use of GuidingLIGHT and cover the following broad areas:\n\n 	understand the overall concept of GuidingLIGHT\n 	perform administrative functions and generate reports to monitor the progress\n 	create new courses and upload new content materials to GuidingLIGHT\n 	understand the impact of GuidingLIGHT during Brownie/Guide sessions and how will it affect the way of learning\n 	administrative processes of getting new members on GuidingLIGHT\n\n \n\n 	 Important information for Guiders regarding Implementation\n 	i) For Brownie and Girl Guide Branch – All girl members are expected to fully embark and use the GuidingLIGHT by Semester 2 2020.\n 	ii) For Girl Guide Branch only – Guide PNA (Year of Assessment 2021) will require the submission of badge reports from PNA. Thus\, it is an expectation that all guide’s award information must be accurate by end 2020.
