SUMMARY:Basic Training Course 1 (For Guide Guiders)
DESCRIPTION:To: All Secondary School Principals and Guiders \nBASIC TRAINING COURSE I\, 2020 \n  \nDear Sir/Mdm\, \n  \nGirl Guides Singapore (GGS) will be conducting the Basic Training Course (BTC) in Jan 2020 for all adult leaders leading the Girl Guides’ programme in School. \n  \nThe BTC is a compulsory training course for all teachers who are appointed as Guiders for the school CCA\, Girl Guides. This course will equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to value-add and lead the Girl Guides programmes in their Units. \n  \nThe course consist of 3 modules. All adult leaders must complete all the 3 modules of this course before they can receive their warrant.\n100% attendance is required for the BTC. \n  \nGuiders who have not completed their Module 2 will move straight to Pre-Camp Training and Module 2 in March for the 3 Days 2 Nights’ Camp. \n\n\n\n Date & Time of Modules\nVenue\nPre-Course Requirements\nAttire\nLearning Outcomes\n\n\n\nModule 1a: Induction & The Fundamentals in Guiding \n30 & 31 Jan (Thurs – Fri)\n8.30am – 5.00pm \n\n\nHall\, Guide House \n9 Bishan Street 14 Singapore 579785 \n\nCollection of materials and uniform from GGS Shop\nReport in smart casual attire with comfortable shoes\nTo equip Guiders with the necessary  knowledge and skills to conduct the Girl Guides programme as a CCA in school.\n\n\n\nFacilitation Workshop \nGuiders will choose one date that is most suitable for them.  \n1.    28 March \n2.    25 Sept \n\n\nGuide House \n9 Bishan Street 14 Singapore 579785 \n\n \nGuiders polo T-shirt and navy blue/black pants\n\nTo equip Guiders with facilitation skills to make Guide meetings engaging\, fun and meaningful. \n  \n*This workshop is supported and subsidised for by MOE. \n\n\n\n\nPre-Camp Training \n8 Feb (Sat)\n9.00 am to 5.00pm \n  \n\n\nRecreation Area\, Guide House \n9 Bishan Street 14 Singapore 579785 \n\n \nGuiders polo T-shirt and navy blue/black pants\nTo equip Guiders with the essential camping knowledge and skills to conduct the Girl Guides Camp.\n\n\nModule 2:\nCamp Training8.30am @ 26 Feb 2020  @ Guide House1.00pm @ 28 Feb 2020 @ Guide House\n\nCamp Christine \n71 Jalan Bahtera Singapore 719922 \n\nCamp materials\, resources\, programmes etc.\nCamp attire (refer to Kit List which will be distributed later)\nTo organise and execute a 3 days 2 nights Girl Guides Camp confidently.\n\n\n\nModule 3: \nUnit Observation\nVia Unit Visit \n\nGuider’s School\n\nIndividual: \nTo submit a Unit Meeting Programme to be executed on the CCA  day to be observed. \n\nGuider’s Uniform\nTo be able to facilitate a 2-hours Girl Guides meeting in school according to GGS’ requirements.\n\n\n\n  \nRegistration Details: \n\n	Submit a copy of the BTC Registration (Guide Guiders) to Jasmine at jasmine@girlguides.org.sg\n	Registration will be confirmed via email.\n	Cost fee: $380 per person inclusive of all meals/refreshments\, training materials\, accommodation and Uniform for Guider.\n	Collection of training materials and uniform from the Guide shop at Bishan upon receipt of confirmation and before the start of the Module 1.\n	Closing date: 23 Jan 2020\n\n  \nYou may contact Jasmine at GGS Office at 6259 9391 / jasmine@girlguides.org.sg for any clarifications. \n  \nLooking forward to hearing from you soon. \n  \nBest Regards\, \n  \nDr. Perema Ramasamy \nTraining Commissioner (Guides)
