Resources – Girl Guides Centenary

As a member of Girl Guides Singapore (GGS), you are part of a special global network of girls.

Each year on 22 February, we join more than 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world to celebrate World Thinking Day (WTD). It is a time to reflect on our global sisterhood in Guiding and to think about issues that impact girls and women.

2017 is a particularly significant year for GGS because it marks our Centenary – One Hundred Years of Guiding in Singapore. Founded in 1917, Guiding has grown to become a co-curricular activity (CCA) for more than 8,000 girls today. It is thus very meaningful that we have chosen the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) theme of ‘GROW’ for WTD and our Centenary.

What it means to be part Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting Movement.
