World Thinking Day is celebrated annually on
22 February by all Girl Guides & Girl Scouts around the world. It is a day to reflect on the meaning of Guiding and its global impact, speak out on issues that affect girls and young women, celebrate international friendship and fundraise for the Movement.

Due to the recent incident at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Girl Guides Singapore (GGS) has decided to postpone its Centenary event out of consideration for the affected family.
The event had been originally scheduled to take place on
Saturday, 18 February 2017, at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
We will advise on the new date soon. The event venue and programme will remain unchanged.

To commemorate its Centenary in Singapore, Girl Guides Singapore (GGS) is launching a special edition 100 Years of Guiding in Singapore MyStamp set on 18 February 2017.
The special edition GGS MyStamp set celebrates the growth and contributions of Guiding in Singapore. Over the past hundred years, GGS has empowered girls and young women from all walks of life through impactful Guiding programmes that inculcate valuable life skills and values, equipping them to become women of character, courage and confidence.
The commemorative GGS MyStamp set features the newly-launched 100th Anniversary of Girl Guides in Singapore stamp (1st Local value) issued by Singapore Post. The GGS MyStamp set comprises a package of eight 100th Anniversary of Girl Guides stamps, attached to eight tabs that feature specially-selected Guiding-related images, including:
Four outstanding women whose Guiding experiences have played a part in shaping their personal and work achievements, and their lives. They include: Mrs Elizabeth Choy – war-time heroine during the Japanese occupation who was awarded the highest Girl Guide award by Chief Guide Lady Baden-Powell; Puan Noor Aishah – the first Asian President and Patron of GGS; Brigadier-General Gan Siow Huang – who in 2015 became the first female Brigadier-General in the Singapore Armed Forces; and, Ms Lee Li Hui – mountaineer who reached Mt Everest summit in 2009.
The past and present premises of Girl Guides Singapore. These include: Guide Hut (Buyong Road), Guide House (Clemenceau Avenue), Guide House (Bishan), and Camp Christine.
The GGS MyStamp set has total face value of $2.40 and is priced at $6.00 each. A bundle of 10 sets of GGS MyStamp is available at a special price of $50.00 (U.P. $60.00). All net proceeds will go toward supporting Girl Guides Singapore’s programmes and activities for girls and leaders.
