The Golden Bar and Golden Hand test syllabus are grouped into modules. There are altogether 12 modules:

The Brownie may choose any Point to work on at any time. She may also select which module she wants to work on first.
In order to qualify for the Golden Bar, she needs to complete five modules, one under each Point. She will qualify for the Golden Hand after she has completed the remaining seven modules. After she has gained the Golden Hand Badge, she may take the Chief Commissioner’s Award.
The Challenges
There are many challenges for her to work on in every module. They are:
Point One: Personal and Social Development
Module 1 – Healthy Me
Know the importance of good health and hygiene
• A balanced diet
• Keep fit activities
• Sleep and relaxation
• Cleanliness and care of body
Module 2 – Courteous Me
Behave appropriately at all times
• Meeting people for the first time
• Friendship
• Manners at home
• With friends at homen
• Manners at the table
Module 3 – Cultured Me
Cultivate an interest in the Arts. Be creative. Choose one of the following:
• Enjoy and appreciate the Arts
• Be creative in crafts
• Be creative in music
• Be creative in dance and song
• Be creative in poems and stories
• Be creative in drama
Point Two: Home
Module 1 – Home Safety
Know how to keep my home safe
• Know the safety rules in the home with regard to:
• Appliances and utensils
• Fire
• Height
• Other Safety Measures
• Strangers
Module 2 – Home Duties
Know how to cook, clean and tidy up
• Cook, serve and wash up after a simple meal for two
• Wash my Brownie uniform
• Iron my Brownie scarf
• Sew buttons
• Fold clothes
• Clean shoes
• Clean and tidy a bedroom
Point Three: Outdoor
Module 1 – Discovering Nature
Enjoy the wonders of nature
• Attend a Pack Holiday; OR
• Go on a visit to the Zoo, Bird Park, Botanic Gardens, reservoir, beach, or any of the nature reserves; OR
• Attend a Brownie Revel
Module 2 – A Green World
Do my part in conserving the environment
• Keep the environment clean and green
Point Four: Community
Module 1 – My Country
Know more about Singapore
• Singapore – the island state, races, costumes, food and festivals
• Meaning of the National Anthem, National Flag, Coat of Arms, National Symbol and National Flower
• Know our President, Prime Minister and Minister for Education
Module 2 – My Neighbourhood
Know my neighbourhood
• Share some interesting information about my neighbourhood
• Know the Road Safety measures to take when going round my neighbourhood
Module 3 – Helper
Know how to respond in an emergency
• How to recognise danger in an emergency, e.g., fire, drowning, attacked by bees, robbery
• What to do in an emergency, e.g., who to call
• How to take and deliver a message (about 15 words)
• First Aid
• Treating a cut
Point Five: International
Module 1 – My Brownie Friend
Befriend a Brownie from another country
• Have a Brownie pen-pal from another country and correspond for a period of time. Contact penpals@girlguides.org.sg
Module 2 – My World
Know a little bit more of the world
• My Guide World
• Know and understand the meaning of the Guide World Flag
• Sing one verse of the World Song
• Know the names of the four World Centres
• The World I Know
• Know what is happening in the world
